Then the two parts are joined together and snapped into the backplane hole. This motion simultaneously compresses the contacts on both sides, (where the contact springing occurs), and creates the connection between the two sides. Finally, the connection is secured with a pre-molded quick-release button, which is already part of the top part of the connector.
