The 74ABT241DB is a high-performance bi-directional logic buffer designed for use in high–speed and low-power applications. It is fabricated with the advanced dual-metal silicon-gate CMOS technology, which has excellent noise immunity and high- speed capability. The input and output voltage range is compatible with TTL, LSTTL, and CMOS levels. It interfaces to power supplies from 2.0 V to 5.5 V and can provide high output current drive for both its graphical and I/O sections.
The 74ABT241DB is a bidirectional buffer which buffers up to 64 bits of data. It contains two 8-bit TTL-compatible parallel input registers, four 8-bit ports in which the upper four bits are the TTL-compatible loaded outputs, four 8-bit ports in which the lower four bits are the TTL-compatible input/outputs, and a four-bit asynchronous flag register. In addition, it contains carry, borrow, and zero flags. The logic also features an automatic power-down feature that reduces power consumption when the buffer is inactive.
The 74ABT241DB has two modes of operation: bi-directional or uni-directional. In bi-directional mode, the two 8-bit input registers are connected to the four 8-bit ports; in this mode, data is simultaneously transferred from the registers to the four 8-bit ports. In uni-directional mode, the two 8-bit input registers are connected to the four 8-bit ports, but data is transferred from the registers individually to each of the four 8-bit ports.
