The 74ACT163TTR is a high-performance fully static, fast edge–triggered, four-stage synchronous binary counter with synchronous parallel load capability, programmable lookahead carry, and multiplexed I/O. The counter consists of four master–slave flip–flops with complementary outputs and common asynchronous reset. All clock inputs of each stage are driven from the same external clock signal. The device supports up to three cascaded stages for an eight–bit or decade counter.
The 74ACT163TTR synchronous programmable counter has a variety of application fields and is used to count a number of pulses, including time, frequency, and related activities. It can be used in digital systems with the appropriate logic circuits for various counting applications, since it counts in either a binary or decade system.
