The 74CBTS16212DLRG4 device is a high-speed, low-power, low-voltage CMOS IC that provides 16 single-pole double-throw (SPDT) nor-gated switches, with a guaranteed break-before-make capability. Each switch consists of two high-impedance analog signal paths, one as the input and one as the output. The signal path between input and output is guarded against excessive power dissipation due to switching transients.

Working Principle

The diagram below illustrates the operation of the 74CBTS16212DLRG4 IC. It is a quad-pack IC with four separate switches, each of which is composed of a complementary pair of MOSFETs. An input signal is applied to the S(el) signal input, and the signal is routed to the appropriate output through one of the four connected switches.

When the S(el) signal is at low, it connects one pole of the IC to the GND and the other to the input voltage V_ref. When the S(el) signal rises, the GND pole is disconnected and the other pole connects to the V_ref

The 74CBTS16212DLRG4 is designed to provide low switching speeds, low power dissipation, and high impedance output paths.
