1. Describe

The TCA9548ARGERQ1 device has eight bidirectional transfer switch, which can be controlled by I2C bus. Channels can be used to resolve I2C destination addresses conflict. 6. Function description

The  TCA9548ARGERQ1 is an 8-channel bidirectional transfer switch for an I2C bus supporting standard mode (100 kHz) and Fast Mode (400 kHz) operation. The TCA9548A-Q1 has an I2C control using a single 8-bit Control register, where each bit controls the enable and disable of one of the corresponding 8 switches Channel for I2C data flow. Depending on the application, voltage translation of the I2C bus can also be implemented Using the  TCA9548ARGERQ1 allows 1.8 V, 2.5 V or 3.3 V parts to communicate with 5 V parts. Applications for the  TCA9548ARGERQ1 include one I2C (or SMBus) controller device and up to eight I2C target devices. The downstream channel is ideal for resolving I2C destination address conflicts. When the temperature of a specific location needs to be read, the corresponding channel can be enabled, all Other channels are closed, data can be retrieved, and the I2C controller can continue to read the next channel. In applications where the I2C bus contains many additional target devices that do not result in an I2C target address conflict, these target devices can be connected to any desired channel to allocate total Bus capacitance across multiple channels.
