The 74FCT16373CTPAG is a 15-bit, 3.3V CMOS FCT/PCT with multiplex output which contains 16 D-type flip-flops with separate D-inputs and Q-outputs. It offers a maximum of 16 configurable data paths through 3 control ports to provide flexibility and bandwidth double that of conventional solutions. It features three control ports: clock (CLK), reset (R), and programmable strobe (PS). This latch block has an operating temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees Celsius and has a total power dissipation of 1.2W.
In terms of its application fields, the 74FCT16373CTPAG is used in digital systems that perform CPU functions such as memory access, data acquisition, data manipulation, synchronization and timing control. It is suitable for a wide range of embedded systems including gaming, telecommunications, robotics and industrial control.
In terms of its working principle, the 74FCT16373CTPAG is designed to latch data in the D-inputs and output them on the Q-outputs when provided with a clock signal. Depending on the type of data path, data may enter on the D0-D10 inputs, or pass-thru from the D0-D10Q outputs. The logic level of the reset (R) input determines whether the outputs are in normal or reset mode. When the reset (R) input goes low, the outputs are forced to 0. When the reset (R) input goes high, the stored data at the input latches will appear on the related outputs.
The clock (CLK) input controls the information that is transferred from the D inputs to the Q outputs. If the clock and reset inputs are both valid, data can be latched into and out of the FCT/PCTs single cycle. The positive/negative edge of the clock (CLK) controls the information that is transferred from the D-inputs to the Q-outputs. When the clock (CLK) input goes high, new data will be latched into the FCT/PCT. When the clock (CLK) input goes low, old data will appear on the Q-outputs.
The programmable strobe (PS) input provides a means of transferring data from the Q-outputs to the D-inputs for bidirectional data paths. Depending on the type of data path, data may enter on the D0-D10 inputs, or pass-thru from the D0-D10Q outputs. In addition, the inputs of a single FCT/PCT can be cascaded together to create data paths larger than 15 bits. The 74FCT16373CTPAG is a great solution for data processing applications that require high speed, reliability, and flexibility.
