The 74FCT573CTSOG8 is a low voltage, fast CMOS octal D-type transparent latch. This device has been designed for use in high-performance memory address latches in easily expandable systems, as well as in other high-performance bus-oriented applications. It receives data from a common data bus, and latches the data on the positive-going edge of the transition of the latch enable (LE) input. This device has a high-impedance three-state output optimized for interfacing with multiplexers.

Working Principle

The 74FCT573CTSOG8 provides an octal D-type latch and operates from a single 3.3V supply. The device latches input data from the data inputs (D) to the outputs (Q) on the positive-going transition of the latch enable (LE) input. The device can be placed in a low-power Standby mode by taking the LE input low. When in Standby mode, the outputs are in a high impedance state independent of the input conditions.

The device includes 3-state outputs, allowing it to interface with multiplexers. The enable (E) and active low output enable (OE) can be used together to enable data to be tristated. The active low output enable (OE) must be held low whenever data is to be presented at the outputs. The OE is independent of the Enable (E) input.

The 74FCT573CTSOG8 is highly suitable for use in high-performance memory address latches and other high-performance bus oriented application thanks to its low-voltage, fast CMOS design. It can also be used in combination with other 74FCT-series buffers, multiplexers and latches,as well as various other components, to construct complex systems.
