74HC11D/AUJ is a quad-2-input NAND Schmitt Trigger gate or quad-2-input NOR Schmitt Trigger gate built with MOS technology and addressing the 3 to 15V voltage range. This integrated circuit has two Schmitt trigger NAND and two Schmitt trigger NOR gates, making it ideal for applications with slow or noisy input signals, or when greater noise immunity is required.

The 74HC11D/AUJ was developed by Texas Instruments and has a high degree of functional flexibility and sufficient output drive capability available to ensure proper system operation. This device provides an excellent solution for a variety of data conversion, filtering and conditioning applications.

In other words, the gate works as a voltage detector, and will trigger a logic 0 output when the input signal crosses the lower set point, then back to logic 1 when the input rises and passes through the upper set point.
