The 74HC652D,118 is a logic buffer, driver, receiver and transceiver which provides glue logic for a variety of applications. It is an 8 channel CMOS device which provides 8 bits of non-inverted buffer and driver outputs. All outputs are open drain active LOW that control both high and low logic levels with a high-level logic input buffer.

Working Principle

The 74HC652D,118 is a CMOS 8-bit buffer/driver which drives both high and low logic levels. The device can be connected to two other groups of logic to form a 16 bit shift register by cascading of the device\'s 8-bit logic registers. It has an input bus and an output bus, with each output being connected to the next device\'s input. The device can expand an 8-bit data bus to 16 bit bus.

The device has a low-voltage drive capability of 2.4V to 5.5V. It can also operate at a 0.8V to 2.4V supply voltage. The device has clock synchronization and data interfaces which allow it to be used as a high speed buffer, or as a data transceiver. It also has flexibility of configuration: parallel-to-serial, serial-to-parallel, 16 bit shift register, and 8 bit serial-in/serial-out bus interface.

The inputs and outputs of the device are protected against any diode clamps. The open drain output buffer allows up to 24mA DC output current sinking capability with no additional resistors for current limitation required.

The device also offers ESD protection of 8kV HBM, 1kV CDM ESD, and 1.5kV MM.
