The 74HCT257PW118 is a 4-transistor logic integrated circuit (IC). It has four output lines, each of which is independently enabled and connected to the inputs of a 2-to-1 multiplexer. The 74HCT257PW118 has a wide operating voltage range in order to accommodate different logic families. 74HCT257PW118 has also been designed to be incredibly compact, allowing it to fit into very tight spaces. Working principle:The 74HCT257PW118 works by connecting one of two data lines to the output through the use of an enable input (E1 or E2). The enable input instructs the 74HCT257PW118 to select either one of it’s two data lines. By default, the 74HCT257PW118 is in an active-low mode. In this mode, the 74HCT257PW118 will select either the first data line (D1) or the second data line (D2) depending on the logic level of the enable signal (E1 or E2). If the enable signal is low, the 74HCT257PW118 will select the first data line (D1) and if it is high, the 74HCT257PW118 will select the second data line (D2). The 74HCT257PW118 also has an output enable input (OE) which can be used to enable or disable the output of the 74HCT257PW118.
