74LCXH245MTCX is a high-performance, high-speed, low-voltage octal transceiver/bus switch. It is used for the transfer of data between the common bus and the associated circuitry. It can work either with 4-channel or 8-channel active bus architectures. It is specified for data rates up to 8 MHz (at VCC = 4.5V, TA = 0°C to 70°C).

Introduction

The 74LCXH245MTCX is a high-performance, high-speed, low-voltage octal transceiver/bus switch, designed for use in inter-integrated circuit (I2C) applications. It is built with advanced CMOS technology which is especially designed to reduce power consumption and provide high speed logic signal transmission. The device has a 3-state output which can be any of the states described in the table below.

Working Principle

The 74LCXH245MTCX is a high-speed transceiver which works on the serial I/O protocol. It uses an 8-bit data port for communication between the two data ports. When one of the data ports transmits data, the other data port receives it either bit-by-bit or in parallel depending upon the mode of communication. It is also possible to perform multiple-byte transfers and read/write operations on the data ports.

The outputs of the 74LCXH245MTCX drive four receivers connected in bus mode. It is also possible to drive three receivers connected in tri-state mode and two receivers connected in four-state mode. The data port is buffered with a tristate buffer and can thus be read or written to. The direction of the data port is controlled by a logic level control input.

The 74LCXH245MTCX also has a four-bit I/O control register which can be used to enable or disable the whole device, enable or disable the interrupt, control the data flow direction, and control the current limit. In addition, it has an enable/disable switch which switches between enable and disable modes. It also has a reset pin, which sends a reset signal to the device.
