While the device is mainly suitable for use in single-board applications, it is also capable of being integrated into larger systems.The working principle of the 82P33714ANLG8 is based on the Time Interval Counter, where information is received as a stream of pulses and then processed in a single clock domain in order to obtain a precise value of the time interval. The device utilizes Digital Signal Processing (DSP) based methods which measure a specific value of the periodic intervals of a signal.The 82P33714ANLG8 allows for the interval counter to be reset, and it comes with a power-down mode that allows the device to be selectively disabled or enabled with the input either high or low. An internal voltage reference is also provided for determining and calibrating the timing measurement. As for external components, the 82P33714ANLG8 requires only a low current oscillator and an external crystal as necessary to accurately measure intervals.The 82P33714ANLG8 is particularly well suited to timing solutions such as oscillators and counters. It is capable of measuring intervals ranging from 500 ps to 500 us, and has a relatively low power consumption.
