Terminals - Wire Splice Connectors offer a union of two wires, sometimes referred to as a “connection”, where an electrical circuit can be completed. They are built to provide a reliable and secure link between two or more wires, in order to generate an electric current in a safe manner. The 8382 Traditional Series are composed of a copper material and are insulated with a heat-shrinkable polyolefin sleeve.
Traditional Series 8382 application field and working principle are generally found in automotive, electrical, and industrial settings. They are often used to join two wires in a power source, allowing current to pass between the two, in order to achieve electrical continuity. They are a popular choice for use in cars, trucks, boats, off-road vehicles, and other applications where protecting the wire splice or connection from vibration, heat, and moisture is necessary. They are also recognized for their ability to provide a higher power capacity and a more reliable connection than standard twist-on wire connectors.
The 8382’s traditional series are engineered to securely and permanently connect wire splices without having to twist or solder the wires. The splice connectors are constructed of an easy-to-strip, solid conductor inner core, insulated with a heat-shrinkable sleeve. The tinned copper construction not only provides excellent electrical conductivity, but also enables a strong bond between the connector and the corresponding wires, ensuring that the circuit connection will remain strong and reliable.
When using traditional 8382 series splice connectors, any bare wires must be stripped. The length of the exposed copper conductor must be appropriate for the size of the connector being used. This will help ensure that the wires in the splice connection are securely held within the connector. The solid conductor must be positioned toward the inside of the connector to ensure the best mechanical and electrical connection.
The 8382 series splice connectors then require the user to use a strip connector tool, or another type of similar tool, to convey the wires separately into the wire splice with the appropriate tension. After the appropriate tension is met, the outer jacket should be shrunk onto the inserted wires and that the heatshrinking tool should not exceed shrink tubing temperature requirements specified in the product’s instruction sheet.
The 8382 traditional series is the most commonly used type of splice connectors, and they are engineered to create a secure connection between two or more wires with insulation and minimal loss of electrical strength. This is achieved through the combination of high quality materials, and the use of the strip connector tool for a reliable and lasting union. Furthermore, the 8382 series splice connectors are easy to use and affordable, making them a popular choice for use in a variety automotive, electrical and industrial applications.
