840C-12-1 Application Field and Working Principle
840C-12-1 is a high performance quartz crystal oscillator that uses a specified frequency of oscillating circuit for time standard or frequency area. It is widely used in communication system, data transmission system, computer, and digital television. Its working principle is described as follows:

The oscillating circuit is based on a quartz crystal with paraelectric properties and an electronic amplifier. The quartz crystal has a horizontal piezoelectric effect, which means that when an AC voltage is applied to it, it will change its shape slightly, and the crystal will oscillate at its original resonance frequency. By connecting the two ends of the quartz crystal to electrodes of a transistor, the AC voltage generated by the crystal will be amplified and then fed back to the crystal, forming an oscillating loop.

In the 840C-12-1 oscillator, the quartz crystal works at a frequency range of 32.768KHz, allowing the quartz crystal to work at a high resolution.
