Oscillators
The oscillating circuit is based on a quartz crystal with paraelectric properties and an electronic amplifier. The quartz crystal has a horizontal piezoelectric effect, which means that when an AC voltage is applied to it, it will change its shape slightly, and the crystal will oscillate at its original resonance frequency. By connecting the two ends of the quartz crystal to electrodes of a transistor, the AC voltage generated by the crystal will be amplified and then fed back to the crystal, forming an oscillating loop.
In the 840C-12-1 oscillator, the quartz crystal works at a frequency range of 32.768KHz, allowing the quartz crystal to work at a high resolution. This type of oscillator is usually operated through an external voltage generated from a current-controlled crystal oscillator circuit. When the voltage is applied, a feedback loop is formed and the quartz crystal will oscillate with a constant frequency and amplitude of oscillation.
The 840C-12-1 oscillator has a good temperature stability and low phase noise, making it suitable for high-frequency application. Furthermore, this type of oscillator is often used in military and space applications, where stable and precise oscillation is needed. On the other hand, it can also be used in navigation systems for navigation and positioning.
