The thermal release is composed of two other functions, namely the thermal sensing element and the thermal pick-up. The thermal sensing element acts to detect and adjust the operating temperature of the device by sampling the current passing through it. Once an overload has been detected, the device operates in thermal/constant current mode in order to disconnect the load from the power supply. The magnetic instantaneous release also functions to detect and respond to current surges which can lead to short circuit conditions. When this occurs, the device operates a disconnect response in milliseconds, providing fast protection for the system. Furthermore, the device is equipped with adjustable settings which enable the user to customize the settings for the device to detect overloads and short circuit conditions accurately and quickly. The adjustable settings consist of two parameters-the setting of the Instantaneous trip, and the setting of the Thermal trip. The Setting of the instantaneous trip defines the current which the device will detect as an overload. The setting of the thermal trip determines the amount of current which the device detects as a short-circuit, thus acting as an adjustable protection device. Apart from offering overload and short-circuit protection, the device\'s adjustable settings provide the user with maximum flexibility in the selection of settings which best suit the application and provide accurate and reliable operation. Furthermore, the device is equipped with a manual and automatic reset option, as well as a protection indicator to warn users in case of an overload or short circuit.This particular model of circuit breaker provides superior protection in any type of application by combining adjustable settings, thermomagnetic technology, and fast response time.
