8745BYILFT is a high-performance clock generator, phase-locked loop (PLL) and frequency synthesizer capable of meeting the stringent performance and system requirements of a wide range of applications. The device provides excellent Phase Noise, RMS jitter, and harmonic performance. It is designed for minimal carrier frequency drift, providing very long frequency synthesizer acquisition times. It is suitable for a variety of applications that require precision clock generation, frequency synthesis, and PLL regulation such as communications, remote sensing, navigation, metrology, test and measurement, high-speed data acquisition, audio, video, automotive and medical instrumentation.

The 8745BYILFT clock generator is based on an all-digital integer-N PLL architecture that is based on advanced digital signal processing (DSP) principles. It uses a discrete-time system model which enables extremely high frequency resolution, low jitter and improved stability. The device uses a fractional-N architecture that enables the synthesis of any frequency within the device\'s frequency range. The device\'s low-jitter clock outputs are clock and data recovery (CDR) capable and are compatible with industry standard SONET/SDH data rates up to 10 Gbps.

The 8745BYILFT clock generator uses an integrated programmable loop filter that provides complete PLL control, enabling very long frequency acquisition times. The device also has comprehensive factory calibration and code based defect modes, providing rapid response time, high jitter and noise performance over wide input frequency range, and wide temperature range.

The 8745BYILFT device is capable of handling both parallel and serial input data streams and employs a variety of clock control features such as clock enable, clock divide-by-N, pulse width modulation (PWM), and clock arbitration. The device has multiple on-chip clock outputs and offers an output port which supports the configuration of asynchronous output clocks. An optional ‘bank\' feature enables the device to generate multiple rates from a single device, providing customer the ability to flexibly address multiple rate requirements with a single device.
