The 8NLE50E fuse is a medium interrupting, low disruption, self-protected fuse dedicated specifically for application on high-voltage transformer power transformers up to 50kV. It is used as a security measure to avoid damage to the transformer by overloading it or controlling overloads during normal operations of high-voltage transformer power systems.

It is a rewirable Dual Element Ferrule Fuse with a high tolerance level (for example 6KA rated) designed to provide intermediate circuit protection with maximum control of energy in high-voltage transformer systems. The 8NLE50E is a class H fused with an enhanced heat dissipating dielectric element allowing for power current interruption in a dampening process.
