9012-AS contacts are designed for use in a wide variety of electromechanically operated switches and relays. These contacts are made from higher grade materials such as conductive chrome plated brass (Tin or Nickel) or hard drawn copper, providing secure and reliable contact performance. 9012-AS contacts also feature a removable plunger so that they can be reused multiple times.

Spring Loaded and Pressure
When 9012-AS contacts are in use, they are actuated by a pressure or spring loaded mechanism. The operating force required to actuate the 9012-AS contact plunger is determined by the size and type of contact being used, which ranges from 10g to 505g. In order to properly actuate the plunger, the pressure or spring must remain in contact with the plunger for an extended period and must be of an appropriate size and strength.

Working Principle
When the force exerted on the plunger is sufficient, the contact inside will be actuated and make proper electrical contact. Depending on the make and type of contact being used, the contact will remain open or closed depending on the amount of force applied. When the force is released, the contact will return to its original position.
