940TR

USB Connectors

The 940TR is a universal serial bus (USB) type of connector. These connectors are normally used to allow for the connection of digital video/ audio and peripheral devices to a computer or laptop. It is also sometimes used to allow for the connection of several different USB devices in one place. A USB connector has power pins that carry 5 volts of direct current (DC) through a two conductor cable. It also has two data pins that are used to pass data between the connected devices at speeds of up to 480 megabits per second.

DVI Connectors

The 940TR can also be used as a digital visual interface (DVI) type of connector. These connectors are commonly used in computer monitors and televisions and their purpose is to allow for the transmission of digital video signal from a computer or laptop display to the display device. A DVI connector has two groups of four data pins and four power pins. The power pins in a DVI connector provide power to any connected display device. The data pins in a DVI connector are used to pass digital video information to the display device.

HDMI Connectors

The 940TR can also be used as a high definition multimedia interface (HDMI) type of connector. These connectors are commonly used to connect multiple audio and video devices together and to the computer or laptop. An HDMI connector has nineteen pins that provide power, video and audio information. The power pins provide power to any connected devices at voltages of up to 3.2 volts. The video pins transmit digital video information between the devices at speeds of up to 15 megabits per second. The audio pins transmit digital audio information between the devices at speeds of up to 8 megabits per second.
