Working Principle

The working principle of 960114-6202-AR rectangular connectors is based on the connection of the headers and receptacles. This connection is made through two primary components –the header and the receptacle. The header, typically having upwards of two to four hollow pins (up to 24 pins in some cases), is inserted in the receptacle which has cavities with similar number of metal contacts. The contacts line the inner walls of the cavities and come in contact with the pins of the header when it is inserted in the receptacle. Thus the 960114-6202-AR rectangular connector provides a secure electrical connection between the two components.

The contacts in the receptacle provide mechanical retention, strain relief and electrical insulation to the connection. They also serve as a shield against electromagnetic interference, thus providing in-service protection.
