The 9FGV1006A004LTGI is a high-performance PLL clock generator designed for high-speed, high-precision timing applications. The 9FGV1006A004LTGI has a wide application field, including datarates up to 10 Gbps in such applications as storage systems, communications, wireless, consumer electronics as well as automotive and industrial automation. Its low jitter and fast locking time make it especially suitable for timing applications with requirements of synchronization accuracy, noise suppression and cycle-accuracy.
The 9FGV1006A004LTGI works on the principle of phase-locked loops (PLLs). PLLs are used to synchronize an external clock source, such as a crystal oscillator, with an internal clock reference, such as a stabilized clock oscillator. By locking the reference frequency to the external clock source, the output clock is synchronized with the external clock and maintains a predetermined relationship with it.
The 9FGV1006A004LTGI’s PLL incorporates a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) which is designed to provide fast frequency acquisition, stable loop parameters and low jitter characteristics. The VCO gain is adjustable and the reference frequency can be tuned by external registers. The device also includes an integrated feedback loop for control of the VCO frequency and it includes an integrating loop filter that limits oscillations and recovers loop stability if disturbed.
