The A-DS 09 PP/Z is a reliable connection apparatus which pertains to the vast family of D-Sub connectors. D-Sub connectors feature a standardised shape, offering various types which you can choose depending on size, conductor type and pin count, each type occupying a certain niche of applications.

The A-DS 09 PP/Z is a 9-Pin type, designed to support power, signal and coaxial cables with up to 9 connections. It is widely suitable for electronic equipment, due to its impressive contact resistance (less than 20mΩ).

The A-DS 09 PP/Z is made up out of a selected combination of contact and shell systems. It has a construction that consists of a die-cast zinc alloy for the shell housing, and a stamped and formed beryllium copper alloy for contact pins and connection with the cable. It also features machined cable connectors and strain relief, as well as a polyamide molded dielectric, to further improve its connection system.

The power and signal cables which can be connected to it are protected by an insulated cover and two latches, which securely retain the connection. These A-DS 09 PP/Z give a secure and durable data/transmission performance. The pin and socket are both 360° and have a current loading capacity of 5A, serving best for equipment featuring various configurations. The cable clamp provides additional strain relief and protection from vibration and movement.

Its working principle relies on making a reliable metallic contact between the pin and the socket. The contact area is slightly tapered to ensure delivery of low contact resistance and robust connection. The presence of the stainless steel shells ensures galvanic isolation, shielding the device from electricity and electromagnetic radiation.
