A1122LUA-T is a linear Hall-effect sensor switch for use in solid state magnetic sensing applications such as fluid level, motor & fan speed, and linear position sensing. It operates with two magnets that generate a magnetic field in a linear fashion, allowing the sensor to detect linear movement up to 3 mm away. The two magnets should be placed with their same pole side facing the active surface of the sensor, and the opposite pole should be placed near the magnetically sensitive surfaces of the A1122LUA-T in order to activate the switch.

The A1122LUA-T features a compact package size and can be installed in applications requiring small form factor devices. Additionally, it has a built-in temperature-compensated switching threshold to provide consistent performance over a wide temperature range and in moisture-laden environments. It includes an on-chip regulator that supplies regulated voltage to the external sensing device, allowing power without external wiring.

A1122LUA-T can be used with various types of magnetics, including NdFeB, Samarium Cobalt, and Ferrite. Furthermore, it features a wide operating range (3.0 to 5.0 V) and its output is designed to switch from high to low when exposed to a magnet with poles of opposite polarity. The A1122LUA-T also has a low-current operating mode, which helps to reduce power consumption in low-power applications.

A1122LUA-T works by detecting and comparing the changes in magnetic fields when the two magnets with opposite poles are brought into and out of the sensing range. When the poles of the two magnets converge, the magnetic flux through the Hall element of the device increases and subsequently the output switches from low to high. Along the same lines, when the poles hover away from each other, the switching outputs go from high to low.

The device has a low-power operating mode which allows the device to switch when working with minimal power. Additionally, the A1122LUA-T has built-in hysteresis that makes the switching operation consistent and independent of the environmental conditions. The hysteresis feature ensures that it is able to reliably detect linear movement even when the ambient temperature is changing over time.

A1122LUA-T is also highly sensitive and able to detect small magnetically sensitive objects such as pins, nails, and so on. Furthermore, the linear Hall-effect sensor switch includes overload protection and short circuit protection for extra reliability and safe operation. This makes it ideal for use in automotive and industrial solid state magnetic sensing applications.
