The HAL101JQ-I is typically suitable for applications such as the detection of flow and air pressure,impact and vibration, door locks,water and liquid levels.The switch is designed to operate in harsh environments including high/low temperatures, shock and humidity. It has a wide temperature range from -40°C to +105°C. It also has a high sensitivity which gives a maximum SNR of-62 dB.Working Principle
The HAL101JQ-I utilizes the Hall Effect principle in order to detect magnetic fields. The Hall Effect is based on the phenomenon of the charge carriers, typically electrons, exerting a force on the electric field inside a conductor in the presence of a magnetic field. It is this force that causes the Hall voltage to be created. This voltage is then used to create a voltage signal which is then used to detect the presence of the magnetic field.The sensing element of the HAL101JQ-I is a semiconductor, usually a silicon, that is placed between two electrodes. When the magnetic field is applied to the silicon, an electric current is generated, which creates a voltage that is applied to the output. If the applied voltage is greater than the threshold voltage of the output, the switch is activated.Conclusion
