1. Describe

The Allegro™ A1212LLHLX-T Hall-Effect Latch is a next-generation replacement for the popular Allegro 317x and 318x series of latching switches. The A121x family is produced in BiCMOS technology and consists of devices with fast power-on times and low noise operation. Device programming is performed post-package to ensure improved switching point accuracy by eliminating package stress induced offsets. Unique Hall element geometry and low offset amplifier help minimize noise and reduce residual offset voltage typically caused by device overmolding, temperature excursions and thermal stress. The A1210-A1214 Hall Effect Latch includes the following on a single silicon chip: Voltage Regulator, Hall Voltage Generator, Small Signal Amplifier, Schmitt Trigger, and NMOS Output Transistor. An integrated voltage regulator allows operation from 3.8 to 24 V. Extensive on-board protection circuitry enables an absolute maximum voltage rating of ±30 V, providing excellent protection in automotive and industrial motor commutation applications without adding external components. All devices in this family are identical except for the magnetic switch point level. The small geometry of the BiCMOS process allows these devices to be used in ultra-small packages. Available package styles provide magnetically optimized solutions for most applications. The LH package is the SOT23W, a tiny low profile surface mount package, while the package UA is a three-lead ultra-mini SIP for through-hole mounting. Each package is lead (Pb) free and has a 100% matte tin leadframe.
