A1395SEHLX-T is a type of magnetic sensor which belongs to the categories of Linear, Compass (ICs). It is used for sensing the direction and strength of magnetic fields and was developed by Allegro MicroSystems. The A1395SEHLX-T is a linear, three-channel Hall-effect integrated circuit (IC) designed to operate similarly on magnetic fields with rectangular symmetry and virtually no offset.

The A1395SEHLX-T is made of advanced CMOS on-chip Hall-effect elements that detect the presence and orientation of a magnetic field and deliver a two-state output (high and low) in relation to the magnetic field’s polarity. The A1395SEHLX-T utilizes a special circuit design to minimize power-supply noise sensitivity in order to assure consistent operation. The A1395SEHLX-T finds many applications, such as in printing, automotive, consumer electronics, medical, and robotic.

The A1395SEHLX-T has a range of 0 to 6 mT with a minimum operating temperature of -40°C and maximum operating temperature of +150°C. It is a three-axis device, thus working on three directions, with sensitivity in each direction and a gain between 0.03-0.09 mV/GA (gain and sensitivity is directly proportional). The device is also compatible with I2C communication.

Magnetic sensing is accomplished by using Hall-effect technology, a simple yet robust sensing principle. This technology works by exposing the sensor to a magnetic field and measuring the change in voltage or current. When a magnetic field is applied to the sensor, electrons are pushed in one direction or the other, depending on the polarity of the field. This change in electrical field creates a voltage differential, which is detected by the sensor and converted into a usable signal.

The core feature of the A1395SEHLX-T is its ability to detect a wide range of magnetic fields. This wide range allows the device to detect a range of magnetic fields, from extremely low levels (such as those found in printed circuit boards) to extremely high levels (such as those found in automotive engines). The device can also accurately detect changes in magnetic field orientation and is programmed to look for a specific orientation in order to switch outputs as directed (either high or low).

The A1395SEHLX-T also features a low current consumption of only 1mA (typical) while it is transmitting or receiving signals. This ensures that the device does not interfere with other circuits by drawing too much current. Additionally, the device is designed for low noise and low propagation delay, which ensures accurate and repeatable measurements.

The A1395SEHLX-T offers a wide range of features that make it a highly reliable and robust device. Other features include an integrated low-noise output driver, push-pull or open-drain output, programmable dead-time buffer, and self-protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD). This device is a great asset for any application in need of a reliable and robust magnetic sensor.
