Magnetic sensors are a special type of electrical sensor, which measure the strength, direction, and/or position of an external magnetic field. The A1421LK-T is a linear Hall-effect integrated circuit designed to detect an external magnetic field. Depending on the application, the A1421LK-T can detect small changes in the strength of the magnetic field as low as 10 mT, and can also detect more powerful fields such as 120 mT.
In terms of operation, the A1421LK-T works by sensing changes in the strength or polarity of the magnetic field. As the intensity of the external field increases, the output of the A1421LK-T also increases in a linear fashion. Additionally, the A1421LK-T is highly sensitive to changes in the magnetic field in terms of both amplitude and direction. As the magnetic field rotates, the output signal varies accordingly. This allows for applications in which rotary position sensing is required as each revolution results in the output having different characteristics.
