Working Principle

The A3281ELTTR uses a principle of Hall effect, which is the property of some substances whereby the application of a magnetic field causes electrical charge accumulations in two opposite internal faces of the Hall element. The Hall element is integrated into a device that is mounted on a circular disc. The disc can be rotated by a motor or manually, opposite to a fixed magnetic source. As the disc rotates, the opposite charges of the disc create a varying magnetic field. This, in-turn, induces current to create a digital output state that corresponds to the on/off state.

The polarized magnetic source of the A3281ELTTR provides an increased sensitivity to the device. It also adds noise suppression capabilities that enable reliable switching even in the presence of external electromagnetic fields. The device features support for up to 24V and a choice of 3 different digital outputs. It also features protection from reverse polarity and is manufactured with plastic, allowing for a long lifetime and stability in operation.
