Working Principle

The AA05E-012L-033S DC–DC converter uses a switching power stage which enables the step-down or buck of the input voltage at a fixed frequency. This is accomplished by switching an internal transistor periodically in order to pulse the energy stored in the inductor into the output capacitor. The duty cycle of the internal switch pulse is adjusted in order to set the desired output voltage.

The converter is equipped with a feedback loop which controls the pulse duty cycle according to the voltage of the output. The output voltage is monitored by the comparator, which compares the output voltage with an internal or external reference voltage.
