AAT2522IRN-1-T1

AAT2522IRN-1-T1 is a current mode DC-DC step down switching regulator optimized for low power low voltage applications. This low-cost device integrates a low RDS(on)-high side MOSFET, providing up to 95% efficiency, higher than that of other DC-DC switching regulators. As a voltage regulator, AAT2522IRN-1-T1 supports input voltages from 2.8V to 20V, and output voltages from 0.59V to 16V.

AAT2522IRN-1-T1 is the ideal choice for automotive, telecommunications, and consumer applications because of its high performance, extensive temperature operating range, and low power dissipation. This device is designed for adjustable and fixed voltage applications, with either a PWM or PFM control. Its flexible control allows for synchronization of the output frequency up to 1.5MHz, and its input and output frequency is adjustable through its internal oscillator.

As a current mode DC-DC step down switching regulator, AAT2522IRN-1-T1 works by switching the power from its input through an inductor and to its output, depending on the operating mode. In PWM mode, the power is switched at a regular, predetermined frequency for the maximum efficiency, while in PFM mode the power is only switched when the output voltage starts to drop below its setpoint. To limit the current and power, limits are set on the voltage and current on each cycle of the switching process.

In addition, AAT2522IRN-1-T1 also features an internal diode that allows the current to flow back to the output during the time between the switching cycles, allowing the output to remain regulated and providing an additional boost of power when needed.
