Output current is also modified by I2C or SMBus for dimming brightness and set-up register for OVP boost voltage, OVP output current and OTP temperature.

In the AAT3176AIDH-T1, integrated charge pump can provide the start-up voltage to the boost converter circuit. During startup, the charge pump charges the output capacitor and starts the boost converter, which will control the MOSFET switch to generate the voltage level that is necessary to drive the LED current to the desired level quickly. Then, the on-time control loop will sense the output current, adjust the duty cycle to regulate the LED current.

The AAT3176AIDH-T1\'s constant on-time control loop also provides protection against possible faults, such as open or short circuit LEDs and enable protections from short, thermal and over current conditions. Once the boosted voltage or output current reaches the threshold of OTP, OCP or OVP, then the circuit will go into protection mode and drive the LED with reduced current or turn off the LED current.
