Working Principle of AB15AB1 Pushbutton Switches

The way Pushbutton Switches operate is fairly simple. The switch itself has two terminals; as the user pushes the switch, an electrical connection is made between the terminals, allowing current to flow. This same connection allows the current to flow in either direction, meaning both forward and reverse current can be sent through the switch when it is closed. This makes them versatile for use in applications that require bidirectional switching.

Pushbutton Switches are designed to be opened and closed without the use of any external power source. When the switch is opened, the current is cut off and the switch\'s normal-open (NO) configuration starts functioning, allowing the current to flow in one direction only.
