The ACL011 is an NTC thermistor-based temperature sensor available from Arbor Scientific, Inc. The ACL011 temperature sensor is composed of a solid NTC thermistor mounted in a threaded 6mm brass body. The thermistor is composed of a high temperature polyester (UL94-V0) core and a stainless steel overmold that protects it from mechanical damage and corrosion. A thick-film resistor provides improved temperature performance and a high temperature silicone rubber gasket seals the thermistor body and improves temperature accuracy and repeatability. The ACL011 uses a 3-wire connection, allowing for more precise measurement of temperature. The output voltage is proportional to the resistance of the thermistor, and can be read with a digital voltmeter. The data can then be interpreted and processed with software to calculate the temperature.
