When power is applied to the primary winding, an electric current is generated from the primary winding which is directed through the secondary winding, where it is inductively coupled and then directed to the load.The coupling effect between the primary and secondary windings causes the current in the primary winding to induce a voltage in the secondary winding. This voltage, known as the common mode voltage, is then effectively blocked out at the load.
