Working Principle

The ACPL-072L-060 optoisolator works on the principle of optical isolation, wherein light emitted from the LED side (input side) passes through a physical barrier, such as a plastic or glass chamber, and is detected by the photodetector side (output side) of the device. There is no electrical connection between the two sides, thus providing true electrical isolation.
