The ACPL-1772L-200 optoisolator is a type of transistor, photovoltaic output (TPO). This optoisolator provides electrical isolation between input and output while transmitting electrical signals. It is a 4-pin lead cosmetic opto package with a low forward current requirement. The optoisolator offers single supply operation with 7.5kV RMS isolation.

Application Field

Working Principle

The ACPL-1772L-200 optoisolator uses a transistor, photovoltaic output (TPO) circuit design which has a wide range of supply voltage and a low current requirement. The device has a three-terminal input circuit and a four-terminal output circuit. The input terminal is connected to a voltage source while the output terminal is connected to a load circuit. The photodiode is connected to the input terminal and the gate of a Depletion-mode MOSFET is connected to the output terminal.

When a voltage is applied to the input circuit, the photodiode is activated and generates a photo signal. The signal is applied to the gate of the Depletion-mode MOSFET, which changes the gate voltage. This change in voltage causes the MOSFET to turn on, allowing current to flow through the load circuit. The output circuit is isolated from the input by a 7.5kV RMS electrical isolation barrier, thus providing complete electrical isolation.

The ACPL-1772L-200 optoisolator has a wide range of applications and is suitable for many voltage isolation applications. It has a low power consumption, a low forward current requirement, and a low operating temperature. The device has a high voltage breakdown rating of 7.5kV for long-term use and is UL approved.
