The AD524BE is a monolithic low-noise amplifier and voltage buffer designed for linear instrumentation applications. The amplifier features an input buffer that is capacitively coupled and an output buffer that can source or sink up to 1 mA for powerline decoupling and/or level shifting. It has a wide gain range from 0 dB to 45 dB and a low input noise level of 5.5 nV/√Hz.The AD524BE is available in three versions: single-ended, differential, and differential-balanced. It is also available in a range of package options. The single-ended version features a single ended input and single ended output, such as inverting amplifier. The differential version features a differential input and differential output, such as instrumentation amplifier. The differential-balanced version features a differential input and differential output with a balanced or unbalanced input or output, such as a unity-gain buffer amplifier.The AD524BE can be used in a wide range of linear instrumentation applications such as low-level signal amplification, gain offsets and level shifting, signal buffering, AC/DC coupling of signals, power line decoupling, and instrumentation buffers. It is also useful in industrial applications such as data acquisition, distributed control systems, test and measurement equipment, and medical imaging.The AD524BE offers excellent linearity and low noise performance due to its proprietary dielectric isolation process. The amplifier also features low power consumption (110 mW typical) and low distortion (0.005% THD typical). It has a high input impedance (1 MΩ typical) and a low output impedance for driving analog-to-digital converters, filters, and other circuits.The input buffer stage has an input impedance of 270 kΩ, a power supply rejection of -60 dB, and can handle input voltages from ± 6 V. The second stage provides voltage amplification from 0 dB to 45 dB and a fully differential output buffer capable of driving capacitive loads with minimal distortion. The output buffer stage has an output impedance of 75 Ω and can source current in excess of 5 mA with a voltage gain of 0 dB or sink current in excess of 5 mA with a voltage gain of 40 dB.In terms of speed, the AD524BE has a typical rise time of 1 µs and a typical fall time of 4 µs. It has a low-noise input offset voltage of 1 mV and a low-frequency noise of 2 mV p-p(@ 10 Hz). It is also very stable with dc temperature coefficients of 0.1 mV/°C for input offset voltage, 0.05 mV/°C for input offset current, and 10 ppm/°C for gain.The AD524BE is a versatile linear amplifier/voltage buffer for a wide range of linear instrumentation applications. With its excellent linearity and low noise performance, low power consumption and low distortion, high input impedance and low output impedance for driving analog-to-digital converters and filters, and stable temperature coefficients, the AD524BE is an ideal solution for your next design project.
