The AD5322ARMZ is a 12-bit voltage output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) family ideal for a variety of high precision signal conditioning applications. This high precision DAC family is available in a wide range of package options including an 8-lead SOIC, 8-lead MSOP, 16-lead LFCSP, and a 20-lead SSOP package with a 4mm x 4mm x 0.8mm profile. It offers up to 12-bit resolution with a typical total unadjusted error of ±2.5 LSB. The outputs are adjustable from 0V to 5V or 0V to 10V with a supply voltage of 2.7V to 5V.

The AD5322ARMZ has a wide range of applications from temperature and pressure measurement, load cell conditioning, thermocouples, and strain gauges. It also offers a wide variety of onboard features including a software programmable gain stage with 1x, 10x, and 100x attenuation, power-on reset, and an internal current reference source allowing for a wide range of user programmable options. The device is also fully compatible with a variety of single and multi-channel analog acquisition systems and it provides an improved signal-to-noise ratio over legacy DAC devices.

The device operates on a single 2.7V to 5V supply and features an internal 7-bit R-2R resistor string DAC and software programmable gain selection to output a 12-bit 0 - 10x reference voltage up to 5V. It also has a power-on reset, which allows the device to reset itself to a default state and eliminate any errors caused by power cycling.

The AD5322ARMZ device incorporates many of the features found in analog-to-digital converters (ADC) such as programmable gain, variable input ranges and reference outputs in order to achieve the greatest accuracy and versatility for a variety of application fields. The gain stage allows for programmable gains of 1x, 10x and 100x, allowing the user to optimise the gain setting for a particular application. It also has an on-chip current DAC which enables a wide selection of various input ranges so the user can configure the device to the specific task at hand.

To complement its flexibility and accuracy, the device also has a number of power management features aimed at maximising its power consumption efficiency. These features include programmable current sources for powering on both the digital and analog outputs as well as a watchdog output to ensure stable operation. The device also features an active power saving mode which automatically reduces power consumption when in standby.

In terms of accuracy, the device has a maximum output voltage error of ±2.5 LSB, a typical (25°C) unadjusted total error of ±2.5 LSB, and a typical differential nonlinearity of ±1 LSB. Overall, the AD5322ARMZ offers exceptional performance in a wide range of signal conditioning applications.
