The AD5624RBRMZ-3REEL7 is a monolithic CMOS integrated circuit which provides a wide range of functions, including an 8-bit DAC. It is designed to simplify and reduce design development time and cost for data conversion applications.The AD5624RBRMZ-3REEL7 is part of the ADI’s family of 8-bit resolution digital to analog converters that are specifically designed to integrate easily into systems. The AD5624RBRMZ-3REEL7 is capable of resolving analog voltages changes down to 0.125 mV. The circuit contains an internal low drift voltage reference and comes with a separate reference pin.The AD5624RBRMZ-3REEL7 is ideal for precision control applications such as high performance servo control loops, cellular phones, and radio communications systems. It is also well suited for applications requiring high analog accuracy like those often associated with data acquisition, automated test equipment, and scientific instrumentation.The AD5624RBRMZ-3REEL7 is capable of providing high speed conversion with output settling times of as little as 5 µs and throughput through the converter of up to 10.5 MHz. It features a 2.5V internal reference and a maximum unipolar output range of 0 to VREF and a bipolar output range of -VREF to +VREF.The AD5624RBRMZ-3REEL7 offers a wide range of features and flexibility for system integration. It has an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and it comes in an SOIC-14 and a 3 mm x 3 mm, 10 pin LFCSP package, which is suitable for all types of printed wiring board as well as surface mount board assembly processes.The AD5624RBRMZ-3REEL7 also includes on-chip protection against excessive power dissipation, as well as against input transients, and overvoltage conditions. Additionally, the device comes in a REEL7 version which adds built-in electrostatic discharge protection, making the device more robust and improving its reliability.The AD5624RBRMZ-3REEL7\'s main feature is its ability to accurately convert digital values into proportional analog voltage. The device takes an 8-bit digital word as an input and converts it into a corresponding analog voltage or current at the output. The device also features a power-on reset output which is used to indicate if the system is running and allow the user to set a default output state. The push–pull output stage can drive up to 20 mA of either DC or peak AC current, allowing for high speed settling of the output voltage. In addition, the voltage output of the AD5624RBRMZ-3REEL7 can be configured for either unipolar or bipolar operation. The unipolar configuration produces an output range of 0 V to VREF and the bipolar configuration a range of -VREF to +VREF. Both unipolar and bipolar configurations help reduce the external circuitry, reducing total system cost and complexity.
