The 16-bit digital data is clocked into the DAC via a 3-wire serial interface that consists of a data input (SDI), bit clock (BCLK) and load strobe (LS). The data is then internally converted to a 16-bit parallel word which is used to convert the digital input code into an output voltage or current. The output voltage is determined by the voltage reference and the digital input code, while the output current is determined by the current reference and the digital input code.The device has two conversion modes, unbuffered voltage output and unbuffered current sink output. The voltage output is determined by the equation Vo = Vref * (D/65536) while the current output is determined by the equation Io = Iref * (D/65536).
