The AD5675RBCPZ-RL is one of the from the family of digital-to-analog converters (DACs) from Analog Devices. It is a low-cost, high-accuracy, low-power, 10-bit resolution DAC with a current-output stage and an integrated voltage reference. It’s part of their ‘Fast settling, wide range’ product line.The device is capable of full-scale settling in 13µs and offers optional SPI-compatible digital interface and power down features. It provides a wide range of features and versatility so can be used in many applications.Application FieldsThe AD5675RBCPZ-RL is used in many applications where high accuracy and low power consumption are important factors. It has been used in precision control systems such as active rubber suspension systems, air suspension systems and vehicle control systems, as well as in connection with AC power meters and ACS power meters. It’s also been used in audio applications such as digital preamps and amplifiers, active speakers and headphone amplifiers.In medical applications, the device has been used in diagnostic equipment, patient monitoring systems and prosthetic systems. It’s also used for data acquisition and calibration equipment.Working PrincipleThe device contains an integrated voltage reference to ensure stability and accuracy of the device’s output. The reference voltage is provided through an integrated voltage reference connection on the device. The reference voltage can be adjusted via the SPI interface and can be set between the minimum and maximum endpoints of the reference voltage range.The device contains two channels that can be used to provide an analog voltage output or a current output. The output current range is programmable and can be adjusted through the SPI interface. The output current is regulated by the resistor—R_OSC—connected between the output terminal of the device and ground as per the datasheet.The device is powered by a single 2.7V to 15V supply and uses a master clock to determine the time taken for conversion.
