AD569SD is a high-performance, low-cost 8-bit digital to analog converter (DAC) designed and manufactured by Analog Devices, Inc. It is designed for wide range applications including industrial and consumer systems. The main feature of this converter is its ability to convert digital input signals of up to 8 bits into an analog output. The converter is also available in two models, AD569SH and AD569SI, which both feature a differential voltage output of ±10 V at an input resolution of 8 bits.The AD569SD utilizes a r-2R digital-to-analog conversion (DAC) architecture. This DAC architecture is based on two series resistor networks that provide basic digital-to-analog conversion. The two series resistor networks are connected at the output node where the analog output is taken. This type of architecture allows for a low output offset voltage, which is important for accurate conversions as well as low power consumption.For applications such as motor control, data acquisition and ATE, the AD569SD offers a system-level integration advantage. Its 8-bit resolution offers a high degree of flexibility in terms of process control and device performance, and its differential outputs are compatible with system-level analog components, simplifying system design. Because of its low power consumption, the AD569SD can be used with minimal impact on system power requirements.The AD569SD is also offered with a two-terminal SCALEOUT configuration, which allows a variety of applications. For example, in motor control and ATE, low-level digital signals can be input and converted directly to the voltage level needed for driving the motor or other instrumentation. The SCALEOUT option allows the user to scale down the output signal from the digital input before being converted to the analog output.The AD569SD operates from a single supply voltage, with a nominal voltage range of 4.75 V to 5.25 V for the AD569SH and 3 V to 5.5 V for the AD569SI. The output voltage range is programmable via the two-bit input registers or the SCALEOUT pin. The output current is programmable via the two-bit input registers, and the output impedance is approximately 10kΩ.The AD569SD also offers a continuous conversion rate of 1MHz and a fast settling time of 1µs per bit. This makes the converter suitable for a wide variety of applications, including motor control, high-speed data acquisition and precision motion control systems.The AD569SD is also a low-power device, consuming only 650µA of power. This low power consumption allows for battery-operated systems to achieve long-term operating times. In addition, the onboard temperature-compensated temperature device enables the AD569SD to maintain its performance over a wide range of temperature conditions. Overall, the AD569SD is a high-performance, low-cost and integrated 8-bit DAC for a wide range of applications.
