The AD5724RBREZ is a precision, high-performance, 16-bit voltage output digital-to-analog converter (DAC). This device is a monolithic IC and is designed for fast settling time and very low distortion, making it ideal for precision instrumentation applications. The fast settling time, of less than 2µs for a full-scale output change, and low distortion make the AD5724RBREZ one of the best voltage output DACs available.
In operation the AD5724RBREZ accepts digital input codes of up to 16-bits, which then determines the analog output voltage from 0V to the reference voltage. A low noise, low drift, and wide range, integrated 5ppm/K temperature-compensated bandgap reference is included to allow the user to easily adjust the maximum output voltage of the device. The reference voltage is adjustable up to 10.0V
The device features a power-down mode, which allows the user to put the part into a low-power, stand-by mode that consumes less than 1µA of current. This feature is important in portable and battery-operated applications where low-power consumption is an important factor.
The device has a very tight output voltage tolerance over temperature with fewer than 1.0LSB maximum error over temperature from 0°C to 70°C. This tolerance, combined with the fast settling time, make the AD5724RBREZ ideal for medical, industrial and automatic test equipment applications.
The device is offered in a thermally enhanced 16-pin SSOP package and is specified over the commercial temperature range from 0°C to 70°C. The AD5724RBREZ is compliant to the RoHS directive and is available in volume quantities.
