Data Acquisition - Digital to Analog Converters (DACs) are one of the most important components of a Data Acquisition system. They convert digital signals into analog signals, making it possible to measure a physical quantity such as temperature, pressure or position digitally. The AD7248AQ is a high-performance, low-power, 8-channel, 16-bit, 1-MSPS DAC, which features an excellent dynamic range and very low distortion. The AD7248AQ is suitable for applications that require precision measurement, including medical instruments, industrial process control, automotive test and measurement, and consumer equipment.
The AD7248AQ has an on-chip 8-channel analog multiplexer (mux), allowing the user to select any one of the 8 input channels from one of the 4 MOSFET switches. The 8 channels can range from 0V to 5V for unipolar input, 0V to 10V for bipolar, and -2.5V to 7.5V for unipolar input. The multiplexer can be programmed through a programmable logic device (PLD). In addition, the AD7248AQ features a digital input test port, allowing the user to enable or disable each of the 8 channels individually.
Furthermore, the AD7248AQ has an on-chip low-noise and low-distortion, low-power voltage reference. The reference voltage can be adjusted by the user with a simple two-wire interface.
