AD7352YRUZ is a monolithic integrated 16 bit, high-speed, low-power CMOS Analog to Digital Converter (ADC). Primarily designed for high speed data acquisition applications (video signals, telemetry data, imaging), the AD7352YRUZ also is applicable for consumer, communications and industrial purposes. With a sampling rate of 6 Msps (mega samples per second), it easily handles complex, high-speed signal acquisition applications without compromising sampling resolution and power consumption.
The AD7352YRUZ features an on-chip charge redistribution successive approximation register (SAR) architecture with differential inputs. This 16-bit ADC has a signal-to-noise ratio of 76.8 dB and a signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio of 72.2 dB which enables it to perform very accurate data acquisition.
The sar architecture consists of an 8-bit integrator, a precharge comparator, and a successive approximation register (SAR). The 8-bit integrator is a unit that charges or discharges its input voltage according to the input data and the conversion state of the SAR. The precharge comparator is an 8-bit comparator that compares input data with the reference voltage set by the on-chip reference. When the output of the comparator is high, the SAR does its signal conversion.
The AD7352YRUZ also features an 8-bit digital correction (DRC) register which allows for an additional signal correction. This digital correction is done before the output stage to improve signal accuracy. The signal conversion accuracy is further improved by a 9-bit internal reference voltage and an on-chip temperature sensor allowing for on-chip temperature compensation.
The AD7352YRUZ is a low-power ADC, consuming only 3 mW when running at its nominal 6 Msps sampling rate. It also features a low-power sleep mode and an auto shutdown mode when no data is received, reducing power consumption even further. Its flexible power supply range allows operation from a single +5V or +3V supply, making it ideal for applications in portable, low-power systems.
