AD7653ASTZ Application Field and Working Principle
Data Acquisition - Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) serve the purpose of converting analog signals into digital signals. The AD7653ASTZ is a device developed with the purpose of providing high speed, single-channel analog-to-digital conversion.The AD7653ASTZ is suited to a wide range of applications, from instrumentation and image processing to telecommunications and medical imaging systems. The AD7653ASTZ is composed of a low power, 16-bit, T-conversion analog-to-digital converter core and nine other components including voltage reference, reference buffer, filter, and data selector.The AD7653ASTZ has a wide input range, allowing it to work with various input voltages, such as ±2.5V, ±2.0V, ±1.25V, ±0.6V, ±0.3V, and ±0.15V. The device can convert up to 200kSPS at ±2.5V. With a low 0.1LSB DNL and a high 76dB SNR, the device provides an accurate conversion of analog signals. In addition, the device has a maximum Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR) of 70dB and a minimum 600V/µs slew rate.The AD7653ASTZ provides a wide range of features and functions to facilitate data acquisition and conversion. It features a two-step conversion scheme in which the signal is first integrated and then sampled. This scheme increases its signal-to-noise ratio and its dynamic range. The device also has an internal timer for conversion synchronization and can be programmed via four inputs. Additionally, the device includes an Analog Input Stage that provides a high-impedance input with low noise and low distortion and a high level of linearity.To make the device more accessible, the AD7653ASTZ supports power-down modes. In these modes, the device can be fully shut down to reduce power consumption when no signal is being processed. The device also has power saving modes wherein it can switch between lower and higher output frequency ranges. This is useful for applications that require a wide range of sampling frequencies and low power consumption.The AD7653ASTZ is an ideal choice for many high-speed data acquisition systems.
