It is designed to meet tough applications such as direct data recording, real-time medical instrumentation, and instrument control in Measurement, Automation, and Control (MAC) systems.

Working Principle

The AD7714YRUZ-REEL7 is a complete single-supply, low-noise, low-power analog-to-digital (A/D) converter. It utilizes a successive approximation register (SAR) architecture to convert an analog voltage to a digital output. The input voltage is proportional to the difference between the voltage supplied to the VGND input and the voltage supplied to the VA input. The device uses a 12 bit SAR for conversion and it is powered by a single power supply (3.3V). It has a typical power consumption of 17.8 mW and consumes an active current of 40 µA. The output data is available in a variety of formats: Binary (unsigned and sign-magnitude), 2’s complement, offset binary and BCD. The digital output is available in a selectable range of 0-10V, 0-5V, 0-2.5V and 0-1.25V+HFS.The device contains a built-in Auto-Calibration (ACAL) circuit which calibrates the device to compensate for input drift, offset and gain errors. The maximum sampling rate for the AD7714YRUZ-REEL7 is 200kSPS and the maximum conversion rate is 800kSPS.
