2. Working Principle of AD7745ARUZ
The AD7745ARUZ uses a Sigma-Delta conversion technique to convert an analog voltage signal into a digital signal. This technique utilizes a single-bit Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) at the input end of the device. The single-bit ADC is then combined with a digital filter which is known as a “Delta-Sigma Modulator” or “DSM”. The DSM filters and modulates the single-bit output of the ADC, receiving the analog signal into the device and outputting the digital value.
The single-bit ADC and the DSM modulator together form the Sigma-Delta conversion block of AD7745ARUZ. The DSM is used to control the gain and offset errors on the single-bit ADC output by adjusting the values of digital filter coefficients. The DSM also performs digital signal noise-shaping, guaranteeing a high dynamic range, low power dissipation, and low noise. The final output of the Sigma-Delta conversion block is a digital signal.
