AD7787BRMZ-RL is a highly integrated, low cost, wide dynamic range, high resolution 24-bit, delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that is capable of converting signals from -16 Vin to +16 V. The AD7787BRMZ-RL is specifically designed for low-power, low-noise, high precision applications such as multi-channel digital data acquisition and measurement systems. It features an on-chip, dual 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a digital calibration engine, a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), a voltage reference, and an industry standard serial interface.The AD7787BRMZ-RL is designed to cover a wide input range and is divided into two sections—the Analog Front End (AFE) and the Digital Front End (DFE). The AFE consists of a programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA), a differential input stage, a low-pass filter, and a single-ended to differential converter (SDC). The PGA provides programmable gain from 1 to 256. The differential input stage and SDC provide the ADC with a balanced input signal which is filtered to reduce high frequency noise. The DFE includes the ADC, the digital calibration engine and a voltage reference.The ADC is a 24-bit delta-sigma modulator with a 10 kHz–30 kHz bandwidth. The digital calibration engine continuously samples the input signals and feeds them to the ADC for conversion. The ADC then sends the converted data to the DFE for further processing. The DFE provides low power operation, low noise, and high linearity performance.
