AD8106ASTZ is a four-channel, rail-to-rail fully differential input and output multiplexer designed for use in speech routing, data processing, instrumentation and audio applications. In these applications, the AD8106ASTZ can switch bi-directional data signals from one input to one or more destinations. It features wide range of differential input and output levels, enabling the data signal to be routed with one or more variable analog gains, independent of the system digital gains or offsets.The AD8106ASTZ consists of two amplifiers and four analog switches. The amplifiers provide switching levels with optimal linearity over the entire supply range while the switches allow data to routed from one input to one or more outputs. Each of the switches has two states: open (inputs connected to the amplifier input and outputs to the amplifier output) or closed (switching to a destination).The AD8106ASTZ is designed to provide a single supply or dual supply operation with a differential voltage range of ±3V. It is capable of driving ground-referenced outputs that can slew up to 3.5V/µs for a fixed gain of 6dB. The device requires a minimum of 6V on a single +5V supply and 8V on a dual ±5V supply. This low-voltage operation makes the AD8106ASTZ an ideal choice for low-voltage speech routing, audio routing, digital signal routing and other power sensitive applications.The AD8106ASTZ offers two selectable resistance values that can be used to reduce ringing and non-linearity in the output signal when switched. The higher resistance value reduces non-linearity in the output by providing an output impedance that is approximately 10x smaller than a conventional switch. The lower resistance value reduces ringing in the output by providing a damping coefficient that is approximately 10x larger than a conventional switch.The AD8106ASTZ also features programmable thresholds to detect input/output transitions. Programmable thresholds enable the user to choose the switching points that best suit the application. For example, in speech routing applications, the user can program a threshold to detect the transition from audio inputs to speech input.The AD8106ASTZ is available in an 8-lead SOP (Signal-On-Polyester) package, making it suitable for a variety of mobile, portable and desktop applications.
